Hello everyone. I'm having a few problems doing a scan on my new sundtek cable tuner. running ABM I pick up nearly 400 channels, but only get 1 channel when I do a manual scan.
What should my settings be? This is the info for my area Farnham NTL 00003 755.000 6.887 But what goes where? I have attached my screenies below.
How do I enter the frequency, etc. It looks like I don't have enough digits on the settings page.

Where did you purchase the tuner from Bokkie and how much did it cost?

There are multiple frequencies in use in any particular area. It is easier to do a complete scan instead of the single frequency scan you are doing. But it does take about 20 minutes to complete.

You should get about 500 channels if you are using a good up top date cables.xml file.

can anyone point me in the way of a cable.xml file?

I'm sure a up to date cable.xml is already in the vix image so there would be no need for it.

If you are using abm you have nothing to gain doing a manual scan with cable.

Why have you bought the pro for an enigma2 box, surely the €79 euro one without radio is the one to get .

Did you try the settings I suggested but with your area frequency? I had the same issue but using them settings I picked up almost 500 channels

What area are you from?

in my setting under symbol rate I only have 5 digits, but the one you posted has 7. Do I just put 69520 and leave the last two 0's?

Change type of scan to single transponder and it's 06952 in the symbol rate

Boom, you're a legend. 31% and 160 channels found.
Cheers for that.

bokkie

Peterj

In this case ABM uses:
freq: 643
symbol rate: 06887
modulation: 64-QAM

found same issue, is there updated cable.xml so 6952 would work with automatic scan ?

Thanks

In your tuner config you can key in an alternative symbol rate to search on.
I doubt if you need a separate cable XML. I don't have one for my provider and automatic scan is working very well, provided that you key in correct parms to in tuner config.

i have a solo 2 with dvb c usb tuner, works well, can get list using ABM fine, just as some channels are testing cant get them with ABM so need to do a scan, i did find cable.xml file for uk 6952 and it scanned but only found around 400 i think it might have been a old cable.xml file

i just tried what you suggested and just crashes

netid 40xxx : 6952
netid 41xxx : 6952
netid 42xxx : 6887

ya i know my ID is as ABM works fine, thought i could just do a automatic scan just knowing if its either 6952 or 6887 . mines 6952, i ftp older cable.xml and it worked but as its old it missed some channels

I think its to do with the sundtek usb cable tuner, having to automatic scan, inbuilt DVB C tuner scans fine with automatic scan,

Err no, they don't clear with current entitlements, it was only on the first phase of testing they was clear, so manual scanning doesn't really achieve anything over ABM...
P.s. Sky sports 3, 4 and F1 launch in HD on July 15th on VM so not long to wait.

If you have a setup that clears Sport1&2 HD then that also clears Sport3,4& F1 HD. These are still shown as Channel A,B & C in your list, but they will clear.

Hi
What's the zapping/clearing times like? Is it sluggish or as good as the built in tuners on a duo/solo?

My entitlements are valid for Sport 1&2 in HD but they don't clear AB&C..., could it be a regional thing?

Cable ECM is usually a lot higher than for sky sat so the initial clearing can take a few seconds, but once you are clearing and zapping its pretty speedy on a duo2/solo2 being mipsel based, be warned these Sundtek tuners are not guarenteed to work with USB tuners from other vendors, their arrogance on this matter is quiet amusing really.

its fast i was surprised just as fast as internal tuner would be, only slight increase to zap if your coming from sat channel to cable but really not a big deal,

I am now clearing AB&C TBH it's a few weeks since I checked.

Must be a USB tuner issue, I've installed the latest sundtek control center/drivers from the official sundtek website as the one in the feeds are outdated but still the same issue....manual scan works fine so I'm happy with that [emoji106]

Yes, manual complete network scan is the way to do it with this stick..
Make sure in tuner settings after you set your network id, to set used service scan to provider and set provider to Virgin Media UK 6952.

The auto scan is 50% our driver issue, the other 50% have to be modified in Enigma2, it's on our list to fix this up and also provide updates for E2 to support this with our tuners.
Our new hardware (from 2014) supports blindscan, but we have to return the values in a way E2 can handle it.

You will need a more recent image. Check change logs to see exactly when that provider was added.

hi - I have recently purchased the same sundtek tuner, I managed to scan 550+ channels but I am getting 0% SNR for all channels so are not clearing

I have searched on that net and seen that others have had this problem but I was not able to find a definitive answer.

anyone able to help here, snr is fluctuating between 0.. 20.. 60.. 70 but it never gives a picture

abu baniaz

hsbajwa316
08-09-14, 19:05
I have scanned all the channels fine using the below settings, 550+ channels and I have Sundtek installed through plugins

Tuner type DVB-C
Confuration mode enabled
Network ID 40974
Used service scan type Provider
Provider to scan Virgin Media UK (6952)

Howeever issue is when I try and watch it says Tune failed I guess due to the SNR.
