I'm assuming your comparing GENUINE products here, I've seen both in operation and I'd say picture quality they're quite similar, I would say the Duo is better but then you could say I'm biased, but for performance and features the DM800 don't come close to the Duo ;)

Agree. The 800 is MUCH slower (CoolTV runs in about 1/2 second on my VU+ - takes about 3 seconds on the 800), runs much hotter, has only one tuner and currently the images for the VU+ (VIX, VTI, BlackHole) are better than any available for the DM800.
