If I make a backup of my settings on a GB quad and I then flash vix on a quad plus (when it's released) and use the settings from my quad?

No its not recomended as they are different models. You can backup things like timers manually via FTP but I would not try using a settings backup from the quad on a quad plus and vice versa.
