View Full Version : [VU+ Duo] Apollo 003 Time Settings

Have just re-flashed and restored from Apollo 001 to Apollo 003. Time stamp on screen was wrong so went to time settings in menu to change. Set time to GMT +12
(New Zealand) but nothing changes, it stays at GMT. I tried various time zones and nothing changes past GMT + 10.
A bug perhaps?

Works fine for me in NZ using sync time via transponder on a vu+ Duo. Haven't upgraded my Duo2 or Solo2 yet.

Just did a re-boot, still the same. Time Zone is (GMT + 12) Auckland, Wellington. Sync time using Transponder time.
EPG says time is Thursday 5 June 23:10 when actual time is Friday 6 June 11:10

Anybody else having issues should post their location and the exact settings they have.

Yes, just checked my duo2 and solo2. Both are set to gmt+12 and sync using transponder time. Both show time 12 hours behind. A restore of Helios and both are fine.

Any thoughts on this? It makes Apollo practically unusable for those affected.

ok thanks, it just proves its not an issue with transponder time

Does this affect only those people who have restored a backup from Apollo 001? I couldn't restore my backup from 001 (it said the backup wasn't compatible), so I restored an older one from Helios. I have no problems with time zones.

I am in auckland, New Zealand and your new file worked perfectly. I flashed Apollo 003 and restored settings. Time was 12 hrs behind. Copied new file to etc/tuxbox and rebooted. Time now showing correctly. I didn't need to reset it in time settings.

Thank you.

as part of the online update feature a full settings backup is automatically created which can be used in the event of a problem.

Meaning you can restore to a full working image in minutes, if it seriously takes you hours to flash and setup your image you are doing something very wrong in which case I recommend you sell the receiver and opt for a closed source one instead.

Personally I have used the online update feature several hundreds of times and even when it does go wrong things can always be recovered in minutes.

Settings restored or a fresh flash set-up from scratch?

I used a restore. I did not want to have to do a full set-up. Maybe I have to?

We don't have testers in all time zones, so please do a fresh flash without any restores.
Let us know if it happens then.
You can still restore your settings afterwards.

Can you check if the time has been fixed on build 008? The New Zealand (confirmed working) and Kuwait fixes were implemented.

1. Make a full image backup of your currrent image, save to your PC.
2. Download and flash 008 without restoring anything. Check time has been fixed.

If you dont want to continue settting up 008 from scratch, flash your backed up image. I have only suggested not restoring owing to your other issue.
