Red-HD V1.
heres our latest skin. based on another provider. :)
mainly for vix image, it works on atv aswell but many screens arent skinned properly.

EDIT: 20151218. ipk has been removed removed. Please install from the plugin feeds.
To install the skin
Menu > Plugins > Green (download plugins) > skins > Select desired skin (openvix red hd)
To activate skin
Menu > Setup > System > User Interface > Skin Setup > Select desired skin
A GUI restart will be required foir this change to take effect
List of chanenls is condensed/squashed.
Open your chanenl list > Settings > Scroll down to "Number of rows" > Press left until number changes. 13 is suggested.
List of recordings condensed/squashed.
This is is because the default number of rows is set to 20. You need to change this to 9
Open your list of recordings > Then press menu > Settings > Scroll down to "Number of rows" >
Press left until number changes (9 is suggested) > Green for OK to save changes

And again, as you'll probably guess I'm not a fan of non-needed graphics, while it displays a ViX logo but can & should be used on other images, I'd remove it & place the picon there.

dont spose you know what the screen name is?
the skin needs a logo in the top left, the picon is in the top right next to the pig on screens where its needed. if i were to put the picon where the logo is there would be a gap on all the menu/setup screens etc

cheers for the screenshots, TSMedia needs to be skinned, you can tell from the window'd box it appears in, it isnt skinned.
if you want to upload your TSMedia folder, i'll have a look at adding it to the skin. :)

Can the position of the volume bar be changed by the user?
are those files from extensions or systemplugins folder? they dont contain the main plugin files. .py files. or .pyo

It's the blue button -> ViX -> Script Runner screen.

I installed this onto my Quad the other day and got a BSoD when going into the CCcam Info screen, if i remember in the morning i'll hunt for the log.

thats not skinned mate
thats just using the bog standard windowpngs.
if a skin doenst have the code for it, it defaults to window'd boxes.
i think i know whats missing, let me have a check up.

Hi guys another amazing skin!
Is it just me or is it running a bit slow?? i installed it from the feeds.
Compared to blue hd v3 its a lot slower.
Im using a Solo 2 with basic setup, only cam installed.
my box is damn slow anyway so i cant really tell,

Strange that, installed fresh on apollo 001 aswell, tried uninstalling version from feeds and FTP'n skin folders to box.
Seems to run a touch smoother, but when using Blue v3 its fast as hell moving thru menus. Is there more to this skin than blue that might slow it down? as i can deffo tell a difference.

Sorry also when i say slow i dont mean really sluggish.
Just a tad lagging when flicking thru menus, not the usual speed of use expected from the solo 2.
Would anyone like that as their bootlogo?

hmm dunno, i'll speak with si about it. maybe there is some difference in the graphics.
im sure there all 32bit though.
the only thing which this is different that i know about is Zpositioning, becuase of the way the screens are built, the zpositioning of alot of stuff in this skin is different to most others.

hmm, the button widgets must be different on that screen, its probably a mixture of "source" and "name" widgets, i'll fix.

Not seen the vermin one but box seems extend towards the bottom. But doesn't as scrolling left brings up the timers list correctly.

One other issue when you are in bbc I player the current selection is not highlighted so don't know if you are on drama factual movies etc

Maybe but in my opinion adding it to ViX is a rather pointless exorcise and always breaks something. ViX already has the single best EPG of any image bar none.

Yes and no
Vix epg button mapping sucks. I never use imdb search, I don't need 3 buttons/ways to set a timer, and I don't ever use epg search, coolTVguide lets me configure them how I want. If Andy added this feature I'd agree with you whole heartedly.

i need to speak with si so we can finalize a few things
i am making a dedicated Red-HD skin for dreamplex which is almost done. the dreamplex skin cannot be controlled by enigma2 it has to be a skin pack so extra work involved with that.
im also sorting provider picons into the skin aswell.
i'll put up a rar soon :)

dreamplex will come as a separate dreamplex skinpack and not a bodging up of the default dreamplex skin.
can i install it from the feed
you only install the skin once from the feeds, then the skin gets automatically updated with the online system updates.
these rars are for the folks who want it before the next vix update.
provider picons have been enabled in this update too, they will display in the channel selection screen if you put your provider picons into your picon folder.

ive not noticed any performance issues tbh, simon has looked through all the graphics and everyhting seems to be in order with those.
maybe its something in my code, im not sure, unless a more experienced skinner can look at the code to see if there is any issues with what im doing...
i always skin with a template based skin.

Your best bet is to uninstall the one you have then install via the feeds.
Menu > Plugins > Green button > Skins

if you are getting that error you are running an old build, install the skin from the feeds.

removed quite a few unused/useless icons to trim down size.
installation:-
REMOVE your existing Red-HD skin from /usr/share/enigma2 and then transfer new Red-HD folder across, restart e2 after it.
heres some provider picons so they will show in your channelselection screen.
put the picon.pngs into your existing picon folder.
only a few to start so you can see how they are named, will provide more soon, unless someone knows of a proper working pack?

it more neutral. the idea of the red hd logo is nice but i feel it could look better. i am myself not able to do.
thx for your suggestions, it is only 1 png to change if need be, its an easy change to make if necessary.
btw the file isnt prev.png, its the logo.png in infobars folder.

ah thx i didnt know. also i installed the providers logo, something that was new for me. i only used picons
until i installed your skin. personally think it is a nice idea, but not really needed. as i saw the provider icon
appears only when switching to a channel and then back into the Channel List.
i suggest you put in some different versions of the logo so anyone can replace the original file.

Two bugs.
Movie list Wi not allow resizing of number of rows, works once but not after that.
Log manager - red button does not change description between debug logs and crash logs.

yes the selection bars are different on red-hd to other skins, there is a gold outline that is lost when you change the rows.
it looks fine to me on my big tv?

already looked mate, theres nothing i can see that would be causing the issue.
the graphics have been checked and all looks ok with those.
unless theres something in my code causing, im not sure yet.
what box are you running?
does the slowdown appear throughout the skin or just doing certain things?

yeah was just having a play with the rows actually, normally is 14 but picons a bit small at that, at 12 now :)

007 apollo at the moment but still slow i just tested , same results
I run a Solo 2 and for now (since released) rossi2000 + simonsez Blue HD skin. I have noted a distinct latency using the Blue Hd skin since the first Apollo image. I have had Apollo 001 + 003, and now 007. This did not happen with the Helios Image. Simply key pressing - EPG / TV is slow - you do not necessarily get the spinning logo, just a latency of a second or more from key presses at times. You could go back to the same button again straight away, and no delay. It's as if there is a background process running?
Those having latency issues, did you manually install or via online plugins install? All mine have been installed via online plugins.
This happens to mine by installing from both methods.
Enable logs, when you get the slow down, FTP the log and post here.
Like the red mine is fine on tec-nano apollo 7, epg a reflash might repair the error i done a restore of setting from apollo 3
But as am writting had update 2:- update and reboot
error there wasnt enough space to update in backup manager
This is the first time I tired another skin. I flashed Apollo 7 and then installed the skin from the plugins menu. After enabling, I did notice that the box had slowed down. When pushing buttons there were delays before a response occurred. I thought it might just be the skin (as this was my first time flashing one), however it seems other people are having the issue. I deleted the skin and enabled the default one again, and all works well.
Also when viewing epg, or channel list the mini tv is quiet small compared to vix skin. Lastly when viewing audio settings or by clicking on the menu button, the whole screen changes instead of a menu appearing on the side. Is there an option to change this?
On another note, it's a very nice skin, thankyou Rossi!

for me it's happening when your interacting with the box. e.g. clicking menu button. or going to channel list or going to epg. if it requires to do something it will become slow to carry out that operation.

ok please enable debug logs, use your box for a while pressing menus and epg etc and then upload the log file
chaning channels is ok but when i am on the menu zap up/down its slows . comparted to blue no slow when iam in the menu
for me it's happening when your interacting with the box. e.g. clicking menu button. or going to channel list or going to epg. if it requires to do something it will become slow to carry out that operation.

Mine is slow when selecting channel list nearly 2 seconds for screen to load using Apollo 008 on Duo2
ive noticed this now too, after i was doing some tweaks to blue-hd and reverted back over to red-hd i noticed the difference,
not to the extent as some mention but it is now noticeable.
there is a slight slowerness to this one for some reason, hmmm.
gonna have to try and investigate.

Can MovieReference.py be deleted now if not required can confirm skin speed is spot on no more lagging well done

Hi Rossi, I have updated to Apollo 12 a short time ago and with it the red skin updates. I have a problem, when I press the button that takes me to the recordings the screen is blank. I have tried to scroll down and press play and it plays a recording so it's just the information on the screen that is missing.

Cracking skin.. But a quick question..
I have it setup on a MiracleBox Mini. Latest VIX 12 and the latest RED skin.
When i press epg, To bring up the channel list, It takes 6 seconds to load.
Is this normal, Or would upgrading to a box with a faster CPU help this?

its 750 MHz mate. Not alot i guess.
Mainly lags on the graphicalEPG even left to right lags 1-2 secs.
Its a fresh image, plus skin install. no plugins running.
Going to stick with this skin regardless,

Hi, i was using the red hd on apollo 003. Just going to upgrade to 12 and i was wondering if this still had a problem when viewing ts media or 1channel, the problem i had was when i went to the movies, chose 'say' A then a page would open 1-5 6-10 11-15 etc etc... when i had the red hd on you couldn't see which line you was on; whereas other skins highlighted the line you was on.. hope that makes sense lol.
this red hd skin looks great mate, keep up the good work :)
tried to edit above post to say, tsmedia worked fine it was when i had 1channel up after i had done the fix
i will check those plugins to see if i can skin them.
the selectionbar is there its just you cant see it as its dark red due to background colours being used.
the plugins need to be skinned properly.

I've been using Blue HD but have now changed to Red HD on my GigaBlue Quad. However, I've noticed the Red/Green/Yellow/Blue button descriptions aren't correct when you're in the Positioner Setup section. The button descriptions don't change as you move through the various screens (such as Movement, Fine Movement, Set Limits, etc.), but they should change as the button's functions actually change in each screen.
Any chance of a fix?

erm i dont think so, as there have been changes to convertors, enigma2 to fix things and add functionality for the skin.

One question, with the original skin (vix) it tells you what tuner your using and if one is occupied, however with your theme this is not available?
Is it possible to add this or is there an option to enable this?

in channel selection and movie selection press menu and change the option in there.
you can use however many rows you want, but for best effect, use 15.

Loving the skin, great work, just one question, i still have the vix spiner when the box boots up, i ftp'd the skin to the correct posistion. do i have to remove the spiner file that is allready in that location?

if you want the default vix spinner, then yes delete the spinner folder in the skin.
if you want the red-hd spinner, leave the spinner directory in the skin.
Hello rossi I have just loaded in your Red HD skin again, I tried it when you first released it but went back to the Vix-Night-HD because I am used to that one
But I have to say you have done a cracking job smoothing out it's few problems from the 1st release :thumbsup: I am going to stick with this now
it seems to respond faster than vix-night but like a few others have mentioned I really liked the original VIX logo is their any way that I can put that back in
but not really bothered but it would be nice, one other question how do I ftp the on demand and transcoding tweeks that you downloaded yesterday
as I am still learning to do things with my LX3 & Duo2 boxes and I don't have a clue what to do :confused:

when u install the skin from the feeds, it installs it to /usr/share/enigma2/ inside here is the Red-HD folder.
when i put the rars on here you need to delete the existing Red-HD folder and transfer the new one across and restart e2..
the skin will also automatically update itself to the latest version when you software update aswell.
delete the spinner folder from the Red-HD folder if you want to keep the original vix spinner :)

Hi Rossi managed to work it out and it is working fine but obviously when the skin is updated my changes will be lost. Can I create I skin_user xml and place in etc/enigma2 and if so does it need to just contain the changes I made or the whole xml, what do I need to name it and what is the correct syntax Thanks in advance

as well as the menu text without limbs. But I think this is an edit updates.

Can I ask, as a personal preference, is it possible to change the following:-
2ndinfobar.jpg (as based on your 1st post) have the name of the channel where the title of the programme is. Move the time of the programme to where the name of the channel was originally and finally move name of the programme down to where the time of the programme was originally.
Please see attached image I have just quickly amended.

They are supposed to be there and have been for over 18 months as a feature to signify that you have a recording set on the program in the middle, kind of like a set of brackets.

I don't see the skin on the feeds anymore, however have manually uploaded it onto the box.
Box is running the latest apollo (80) and I am seeing large fonts on a few menu screens. any help appreciated.
