View Full Version : [VU+ Uno] Streaming Movies from PC to Vu+

I have successfully set up my Vu+ Uno to stream a film from my PC hard drive but only from
the C: Drive in a directory called "Test".

What would the syntax be to change this for films in my G:/MEDIA drive? (which is where the
films really are..........the C: Drive was just a test to get it up and running)

The G:/MEDIA drive is already network shared and can be viewed on my laptop or XTreamer.
I've tried entering G:/MEDIA and /MEDIA on the "Server Share" line but clearly these are wrong
because neither seem to work.

try just 'MEDIA'
Also how are you mounting NFS of CIFS

Set as CIFS.....see below.
OK.......tried MEDIA only.....still no-go.

Settings are shown below with error message on the right when I attempt to
change movie location with yellow button.

Server3 is the name of the Desktop PC running Win7.
IP of PC is static.
User Name is Ian (no password)

Device Information shows as Network Servers: None
But Mount Viewer Shows Server3 with a 'tick'

mine had this problem and was the way it was mounted have you tried FSTAB instead? is samba installed?

OK......got there in the end.

I installed NFS and Samba (Not sure which one was needed, so I installed both)
This enabled me to expand the path to my desktop pc and select the drive needed to share.
On pressing "Press OK to mount this share" all the info, with the exception of the last
three entries were pre-set for me.

34658

Now when I press yellow to change location I can choose 400GBGSERVER3 which
gives me the drive containing the movies.

And (since I did the ScreenGrab) I've discovered that throwing a /MEDIA on the end
of the Media Share Name, it will jump straight to my MEDIA directory.

Thanks for your help josh_g
