goto xbmc > settings > disabled addons > vu+ /enigma2 PVR client. enable then configure. Enter your boxes ip there and configure other settings
then go to xbmc > settings > live tv > enable it.
(rough path guide I'm not at home right now)
Then go to xbmc > live tv. It will download epg data, populate a menu with picons from your box.
Done!

Hi Stewart,

I can't locate where XMBC resides within the box...I had a look in the plugins but there is only xmbcaddons by pcd and xmbcwetter.

Is it any of these or somewhere else?

Many Thanks

Thanks guys...
I installed Xbmc along with Addons like mashup, icefilms etc.on my desktop running Windows 7 but had No audio and the Tv icons were greyed out akin to there was no connection but in Xbmc System settings my ip was showing as a live connection. Tried all the usual stuff uninstalling>reinstalling addons and Xbmc itself but still no joy.
Anyone have any experience with Xbmc that could possibly assist.

Many Thanks

Mine works perfect try this

1 make a new bouquet on your satellite box called XBMC, Use DreamboxEdit to do this and then copy a few tv channels into it.
Nothing else to do as far as the sat box is concerned.

2 Go to XBMC on your desktop or laptop go to settings then to add-ons
Then go to disabled addons and enable the PVR client called VU+/Enigma2 client.

3 go to enabled add-on and in there look for PVR Clients click on that and go to configure.
In General put in you I/P address of your sat box leave rest as default
In Channels highlight fetch 1 tv bouquet
In TV bouquet put XBMC (This is case sensitive Same as you typed it on you sat box.
Highlight channel and bouquets updates
In Advanced only put in username as root unless you have changed yours.
Click OK and then exit with X at top right.
Go back to system and then Live TV
General Enable
That should then get you started.

I hit the wrong button and it posted it so had to go in and edit it.
Its all quite easy once you get your head round it.

I have XBMC installed on some android boxes around the house so we can watch different channels in different rooms.
Also a NAS box connected to it as well to stream films as well.
Sat boxes are a VU+ Duo2 2 x twin tuners, Technomate Nano twin so have plenty of choice.

Are you trying to listen to this through the computer or is it connected to the TV
If TV is it then connected via HDMI if so change Audio to HDMi in XBMC

In Dreambox Edit go to Tools then options fill in your ip address and leave the rest alone it will work ok
Click save
Make a default folder on your computer call it My Bouquet
go to the 3rd icon along top in DBE got 2 arrows on it and click
click browse and change it to the dir you have made on your computer.
Click receive files from dreambox and it will the dl the bouquets from the sat box
In right hand box under bouquets highlight TV user bouquets right click and add a new bouquet XBMX
Then copy the tv listings you want in it from the other folders.
then click 3rd icon agn and send the files back to the sat box
Simples as the meercat's say

What's your opinion on android boxes with XBMC already pre-installed, i seen the Evo xfinity i think it was but some folks saying they're poor.

They can be a bit slow sometimes
I have 2 in the bedrooms andthey seem to use the buffer quite a lot.
I use a zotac ID 83 in living room and that works fine also got an I7 in front room and that work well use hdmi to connect to TVs

A few people have said that XBMC won't run on an Enigma2 box, is this correct mate.

s2tephen
06-05-14, 22:40
No I don't think there is a good working way yet but it is being worked on so maybe in the future.

There is a new box out that is running XBMC as a operating system do not know what its like .

AB-IPBox-Prismcube-Ruby-Twin-Satellite-Receiver-HDTV-XBMC-Multimedia-Menu-WiFi

I have tried a couple of the add-ins but did not like so took them off.

Use the Sat box to do the receiving and computer for XBMC and you wont go far wrong.
