Hi all,

1st post - and it's for help :)
Been reading the forums for a while and thought i could do it all myself, but obviously not...

Today, i received a vu+ solo 2 from WOS, i updated the most recent Vix Helios image onto it as well, i have all the freesat channels...
I personally already have sky hd with movies, sports etc...now i'm trying to view sky on the vu+ but although i've used the auto boquet updater and have all the channels and picons in place, i get no reception from the channels.

I followed the guide by Josh G, and did exactly what he said regarding CCcams. I've inserted my Sky viewing card in as well. By googling i see it may be something to do with needing a boxkey code, can anyone give any guidance on this? I've tried googling cccam boxkey tutorial but either get nothing or 2011 posts - thanks in advance!

Nothing has changed since then on adding a boxkey. There is a chance your sub is now paired to your SKY box though.

Have a look at this thread (http://www.world-of-satellite.com/showthread.php?2758-sly-card-in-vu-duo&p=19451&viewfull=1#post19451) for how to get the boxkey & let us know if it works...

hi there you may be out of luck even with a box key as sky has updated there encryption and if the card has been updated via the sky box as it may not work , I may be corrected on this

Thanks for the info - i've had a look at the boxkey thing, the missus has made me put sky back in for the moment, she was getting annoyed with wathing nothing so will get the file prepared tonight and try it out as soon as i can...
Cwebb66 - how long has this issue gone on for, and any ideas about a potential workaround...

ok - tried the linked guide - thanks judge, it never recognised my new CCcam.cfg file, could this be because i've already installed it as josh g's guide where i had installed it with no code? Should i delete the previous install maybe? If so, what's the easiest way? Thanks in advance :)

I FTP'd it across - but after going thru setup/softcams it never recognised the new file and still showed softcams.2.3.0 original install

Easiest way IMO would be use a current Helios image, install the cam you want from the plugin feeds & then create your config files & upload them to the box.
Blue button -> Softcam Manager -> blue button, to enable required softcam on start-up.

alimac2411
24-04-14, 00:06
Thanks judge - i tried that, but when i press blue button / softcam manager / blue button option is to disable statrup as i've already installed cccam.2.3.0 previously but without the specific boxkey code so is there an easy way to delete my previous install?

judge
24-04-14, 00:15
Just overwrite your /etc/CCcam.cfg file so, restart E2 & the new config file will be used.

alimac2411
24-04-14, 00:29
i tried that but no difference - thanks for the help all the same - what's the best way to just reset the box again and start installing from scratch? Does reflashing the original image do the job?

(It's as if when i add the new file, it doesn't acknowledge the new file with code compared to the original file CCcam.cfg with no code

Reflash current image from http://openvix.co.uk or your preffered image server.
Maybe try OSCam as your cam, nobody but you can tell if your card has been paired to your sky box.

alimac2411
24-04-14, 00:35
Thanks judge - don't know anything about oscam, just briefly would i have the same issues with oscam should my card be paired to my sky box

judge
24-04-14, 00:39
Yes, if the card has been paired to your SKY box, I don't think there's currently any way of using it in another box.
OSCam config files are a bit more complicated than CCcam config files, but it's updated daily, so more chance your card will work with it.

Have a look at my post here for OSCAM setup guide...

http://www.world-of-satellite.com/showthread.php?28041-Mgcamd-requires-manual-restart-after-standby&highlight=Oscam

If the IP address of your box is not in the 192.168.0.x range then you'll need to modify the httpallowed line in the oscam.conf file accordingly.

Also, if using Windows to create the config files don't use notepad as this doesn't format the file correctly. I use notepad++ which is a free download.

Use Doscam V0.19 zero conf.

Hi Chaser and thanks for the help. I've been following your detailed guide....it feels like i'm maybe getting somewhere :)
I copied your code exactly to create the oscam.conf file, i didn't amend the ip address in the code as mine is in the 192.168.x.xx - was i correct there?
I did use notepad++ as well.
When i open webif, i put in my ip address and get my box no problems, but when i add port 12347 to the address as instructed i get the message that the page could not be found.
Also, i did not create the oscam.server or oscam.user files as i'm using the internal HDD, from reading that guide my understanding is that i'd only need to do that if i was using a USB stick, please correct me if i'm wrong there - thanks a lot

Hi

Another possible work around to get you sky card to work would be to seek out one of the old Thompson sky receivers and do an online pairing with the box if you get unable to do trying to pair this way then ring sky CRS and tell them your normal receiver is down and you need to match it to the old Thompson receiver but dont insert the card into that receiver.
There are rumours that sky maybe trying to close down this loop hole but not on mine.

Thanks Satmanbasil - good info - i will try that if i have no joy with what i'm currently trying!

You need to get back to basics. Even if your Ѕky card has been paired you can clear FTV channels like ITV2 HD or Channel 5 HD. From what I have read above you have not got that far yet - please correct me if this is wrong.

I suggest you go back to CCcam and get it working. Then Check what CCcam Info says (press blue button to see CCcam Info) - line 8 entitlements will tell you if CCcam is recognising your card. Once you have FTV channels clearing you can work through some of the above good ideas to see if you can get any of your premium channels.

Tried that timofee - yes i have FTV channels working no problem, just the premium that isn't working....as you advised i went to entitlements and is says ' no or unknown card inserted' - thanks

So i'll copy and paste from chasers guide the exact code i put in for oscam to create the oscam.conf file...

oscam.conf
Code:
[global]
logfile = /media/hdd/oscam/log/oscam.log
disableuserfile = 0
nice = -1
maxlogsize = 50
preferlocalcards = 1
usrfile = /media/hdd/oscam/log/oscamuser.log
emmlogdir = /media/hdd/oscam/log/emm/
lb_mode = 1
lb_nbest_readers = 2
lb_reopen_mode = 1
failbantime = 10

[cs357x]
port = 12345

[newcamd]
port = 12346@0963:000000
allowed = 1.0.0.0-255.255.255.255
key = 0102030405060708091011121314

[dvbapi]
enabled = 1
au = 1
decodeforever = 1
user = mubbashir
boxtype = dm7000

[webif]
httpport = 12347
httpuser = mubbashir

I never created an oscam.server or oscam.user file as i'm interpreting from the guide they should only be created if you're using a flash drive, i'm using a HDD...
I then put my ip address in the browser and it opens in webif, the guide then states to add port 12347 to the address, this is where my process fails as it then states address can't be found - any advice anyone?

no or unknown card inserted

You need to fix that first. Card in the correct slot? facing the right way up?

Yes. You sure the card hasn't expired or been paired? What channels does it currently clear?

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. If you're unsure what needs to be configured then for simplicity you really should just add the oscam.server and oscam.user files. My comments about USB / HDD were related to some of the lines in the oscam.conf file.

However, if you feel confident, and you've created the oscam.conf file, started oscam from your remote, and can access oscam from your web browser, then you will be able to create the oscam.server and oscam.user files from the oscam web interface.

it gets FTA sky channels but not the HD ones, nor the sports / movies, kids channels etc...my card hasn't expired as i take it out and put it into the Sky HD box still, since i amn't getting the channels on the solo 2...maybe it's just the sky encryption that's the problem

yes i can access the oscam interface via my ip address, it just fails at the bit where i input the port after the ip address - i'm assuming webif is the interface, and yes i have oscam plugin installed in the cam manager section

I don't really understand that. If you don't add the port number, then you would normally just land at the OpenWebIf page. Do you have the line httpport = 12347 in your oscam.conf file? And what is the IP address of your box?

Edit: I also notice from your earlier post that you only have 2 lines in the [webif] section. You should have more than that!

[webif]
httpport = 12347
httpuser = mubbashir
httppwd = abc123
httptpl = /media/hdd/oscam_picons

httphideidleclients = 1
httpshowpicons = 1
httpallowed = 127.0.0.1,192.168.0.1-192.168.0.255

Edit 2: no. OpenWebIf is not the OSCAM interface. It's the general box interface.

Ok. Firstly, you'll need to modify the httpallowed line in oscam.server to:

httpallowed = 127.0.0.1,192.168.1.1-192.168.1.255

And yes. The oscam.server and oscam.user files go to /etc/tux box/config

Sorry. Just realised that 192.168.1.64 is your sat box IP, so that won't work in httpallowed. It needs to be the address of your PC / laptop. Best to put in a range of IP addresses, though. I'd go for httpallowed = 127.0.0.1, 192.168.1.1-192.168.1.255

127.0.0.1 is local host (direct access from the box).
192.168.1.1-192.168.1.255 is any PC on your local network.

Remember to restart oscam after changing the file.

What web browser are you using?

I'm using chrome

Should work fine, then. Just change httpallowed as I suggested and restart.

Thanks everyone for the replies, have tried everything and there's no change, tomorrow i'll try and reflash from the latest vix helios image again, start from clean, and then use the codes supplied amazingly by all of you...
Someone confirm, other than the conf file, are the .server and .user files essential?

oscam will start with just the .conf file.
.server & .user files can created by webif the last time I tried.

Oscam starts fine, it's just not being able to log into my port via the browser that isn't working, when i'm in webif i can change channels etc...from my laptop.
I think i've diverged pretty far from my original post as well, where i was trying to get my 100% legal sky card to work with the solo 2 - so thanks guys - i'll let you know if i get this working :thumbsup:

PS
I suggest you load oscam from feed,after installing Helios.

May sound like a silly question, but when you say by feed, do you mean from the extensions menu via the vu solo 2 box thru the remote?

Another thought - are you sure you downloaded the correct file from download.oscam.cc? For simplicity it needs to be one which has the webif included but doesn't have ssl or libusb:

oscam-svnXXXX-mips-tuxbox-oe2.0-webif-Distribution.tar.gz

Edit: Alternatively, as others have suggested, if you download oscam from the feeds it should already be the correct build - although it will probably be an older version.

Ok, so reflashed, installed oscam from the feeds - used lemi's code with port 88 and now finally i can login to webif via port 88, progress!
I haven't as yet installed a .server or .user file
Also, still no sky premium on the box. Can you let me know if the following is an appropriate .server file and .user file, i realise the .user file has the username provided by chaser previously, so if there's anything i should edit, please let me know - thanks very, very much!
If the files ok, should i transfer it across via filezilla or enter it thru the webif program?

oscam.server
Code:
[reader]
label = local_reader
description = local_reader
protocol = internal
device = /dev/sci1
caid = 0963
detect = cd
mhz = 500
cardmhz = 500
ident = 0963:000000
group = 1
emmcache = 1,3,2
blockemm-unknown = 1
blockemm-g = 1

oscam.user

[account]
user = mubbashir
pwd = abc123
disabled = 0
group = 1
uniq = 0
sleep = 0
au = local_reader

Well this was an interesting thread, as I also can't watch the premium channels with my subscription card, and had hoped to see if it worked, so after reading all 8 pages, my question is - what happened lol!

Cheers,
