Hi,

I'm hoping this is a quick fix but I've got an intermittent error with my GigaBlue HD800UE.

Usually the box is turned off at the mains when we go to bed. It has worked fine like this since I bought it around xmas 2012.

Now when I come to turn the box on in the morning it goes through the boot up sequence but then stops and shows me an error as described in the title.

I did a bit of digging around on forums and found some people advising that I should delete the openvix-mips32el file. When I found this file on my box it was almost 5GB in size.

I am having to do this more and more frequently. I have just deleted it from my box and rebooted but the file has reappeared and is 4.9GB. The box is working now but I can't help but think as soon as the box is restarted again I'll get the same problem.

Has anyone come across an issue like this before and what did you do to resolve it permanently?

Cheers
Al

I'm guessing you are using an old build?
If so, please update to Helios, available on http://openvix.co.uk

Thanks for the quick reply.

I'm not entirely sure:

Kernal: 3.1.1
Drivers: 2012-10-19
Image: Release
Version:3.0
Build: 521
Last Update: 2012-12-15

On memory information its showing

Flash
Total 104.0M
Free 108.0K

I suspect you are right it is an old version judging by the dates in the software info. Can you point me towards a guide on how to update to helios? Will I lose any of my plugins and bouquets etc?

Cheers

Yes, that build is quite old & fixes have gone into current images to stop this issue.
Also, as it's that old, a fresh flash is required with no settings back-up.
Have a look in the Guides and Tutorials (http://www.openvix.co.uk/index.php?dir=Guides%20and%20Tutorials/) section for a flashing guide.

What plugins, cams, channel lists are you currently using as some can be backed up & then restored via FTP/DBE after a fresh flash.
