Ive notice this thread recently http://www.world-of-satellite.com/showthread.php?3621-Sky-uk-28-2-east-NEW-CHANNELS/page59 - named (as the title says).

i see some new channels in the thread and was wondering how to get these new channels up. tried a full scan & blind scan but they dont show. is there a certain way to these up?

am currently using zeus 023 on solo2.

A lot of those channels have already started and are included with Abm when it scans , any new channel will automatically be added on that when it has been officially launched so you won't need to do anything , a lot of the time other additional ones may come and go as they will be testing so won't be permanent. But when launched will be picked up by Abm

Hope this helps

you need to update your satellites.xml file then do a scan

how do i do that pleas Maxwell as a newcomer to enigma2 machines i thought all the satellite data downloaded automatically when you did a scan and then ran ABM & CrossEPG

you can either wait or download a new satellites.xml from here
http://satellites-xml.org/ once you have it transfer it to your box with FTP or Filezilla to /etc/tuxbox then reboot and scan

cheers. just seen something that is similar to what you have said but to save in etc/engima2

do i need to scan through ABM or normal auto scan?

If your just a new user then your best bet would be to follow this PDF guide on how to setup ABM

if you manually add and scan channels that are in testing to get them then when they launch or change you will lose them

Abm will auto scan each day for channels that have launched and any freq changes and will update the channels automatically so you don't have to

definitely /etc/tuxbox

I just use Abm as I have no need to see new channels that will change etc or be testing Hence why it fine for my purpose as when any channels launches and has been given a freq and channel etc then it will be detected when Abm scan as long as it's part of the list you want it to show

If you follow the guide I posted above you can set it up correctly for different sky regions to get all the channels

I have it setup for sky uk London
Sky Scottish hd west
And sky Ireland to get setanta sports etc

i have ABM set to auto scan and save to a 4 gig USB stick at 3.30am and CrossEPG to scan at 4.00am and every thing is perfect

i understand that you do not need to save to memory stick as it works just as well saved to the internal Hard Drive but seeing that i had a spare 4 gig Kingston Data-traveler that i never use as most of my other ones are either 8/16 or 32 gig i just set it and forget it :)

Just use abm for 28.8 when any channel launches it will have it and add it to the launch

If you install cats eyes settings after running abm your local channels are not quite how they should be.
