random crash vu+ duo2 on latest image of vix

hi,

i got my vu+ duo2 couple of days ago from WOS. and since day one it keeps freezing and crashing randomly.....i have reflashed atleast 10 times but it does not solve my problem.

please help, i have spent £430 and cant even watch tv.....................................i feel my azbox is better now, it's working without crash for last 5 years.

i have attached crash reports.

i would really really help for your support.

i hope i wont need to return the box, i love the box but nothing is stable at the moment.

just to add, most of the time screen just flash and i have to restart box, sometime it start flickering.....i don't see any log when it freezes..

Looks like plugins & skins you're installing that's causing the crashing.

You certainly have a number of plugins that could be dodgy (and I wonder if you really need/use them), such as:

I would reflash the box with build 20, using restore without restoring the plugins, and add a softcam if required. Once all is fine, you can add plugins one by one, but please make sure to install only useful plugins.

It could be cam. It's carshing even on default skin. I even tried BH and it still crash or hang. Temperature is just 30.

Hi I installed cam by putting in temporary folder. Is cccam3.0 working ok with vix?

thanks. i will do a fresh install and see if it's fixed. i did not install software manager so i assume it's there by default? is it just me or it's a common problem.

i still think it's cccam which is causing a problem....is there any other I can use instead of cccam?

Look at the 3 crash logs, certainly looks like plugin & skin issues...

i have done a fresh install (build 20) and it still crash when changing channel from EPG.

i have not installed any skin or plugin this time, it even hung up once during configuration process....

i will do another install.....any way to format flash? may be that would solve the problem

also when i restart box from remote......it does not automatically reboot. And when in deep standby it won't wake up from remote..

any help would be really really appreciated! I don't want to return this box....

Again, you want to return the box because of a crash?
This one looks like it's down to EPG, what were you doing when it happened? do all your channels have EPG?

Your EPG crash has been found & fixed in the meantime by a software update.
Not sure what you could have done to stop the box from booting?

i have not done anything. It crashed, i restarted and it won't boot anymore. Anyhow i have contacted WOS and they are picking it today to check it.

hopefully i will get a replacement or refund!

I don't think so. But of course you can have setup issues and/or any box can be faulty.

I think you could equally apply your thinking to most general electrical equipment these days, as the old folks say it's just not built or as reliable as they used to be :)

i also had this problem with my duo 2 only had it 2 days installed vix zeus with no plug ins ,was fine watching tv but when in standby would not wake up the next morning turned off at the rear but would not come on just a white light left off for over an hour before it would restart . so all day no problem but again next morning exactly the same but this time would not come back on tried for 4 hours ,sent back to the shop they pluged it in and it worked for them straight away but they sent me a replacement box out anyway , I have not installed any image on this box yet as I don't know what to use .

forgot to add , the second time it got stuck it was not in standby from the night before ,it just froze I got up at 7am and it said 5.47 on the clock but would not power up ,turned off at the rear and just a white light again you cant reflash or anything , also no logs in the log files

yes same here mate. I got a replacement last week and new one is working perfectly without any issue. It was definitely hardware issue here.......

I personally think it is a power pack issue. For the money they are not that good I wish I had bought a cheaper box that was more reliable. When something goes wrong that quick it always makes you think when is it going to happen again

I have been using my replacement for a couple of hours with no problems. Will let you know more when I get up in the morning see if it comes out of standby
