Thinking of upgrading my VU+ULTIMO for a VU+DUO2 have found a WD Black2 1TB, hybrid 2.5" dual/drive. (HHD 1tb) & SSD (120gb) any one know if this would be ok to load picons & epg on the ssd & keeping the 1tb H/D for recordings. Would this be better than using a usb stick in rear of stb.

How big is your picon pack? Surely the Duo2 has enough space?

Have 13/16/19/23/28 picons would it a waste of money on a VU+DUO2.

Well orcam pack which is on feeds is only about 22 mb when loaded, so with 1gb of nand flash to fill it might take you a long time, even with all the other stuff that uses flash.

Waste of money on the SSD. A 5400 rpm mechanical HDD is fine for the receiver. A dedicated PVR one would be even better.

Some people love large HDDs. That is fine. For me, if a recording is worth keeping for a long time, it can be converted and saved to an alternate medium.
