Need help with this....I've installed it successfully.. Gone to the add on and started it up... A window appears telling to go on a browser to an IP address with a port number. Which browser tho one on my laptop or is there a browser for the vu solo 2?

I'm on openvix build 808

The browser on your laptop or any browser on the same network as your Solo.

Is there a browser on the solo I could use for it instead of using my laptop?

Solo or Solo2? If the Solo2, opera can be installed, not sure how well it would work with Transmission though.
I'd guess it's easier to set-up/use from your lappy.

U have to use a laptop/PC/Mac as even if you have a browser on your STB, you will still need to be able to download or link the magnet to the transmission app. Using a PC/Laptop, just right click the magnet/torrent, choose "copy link location" if in Firefox, (Crome also works) then paste that into the URL of Transmission upload box. Takes about 5 seconds :)
NB> the log in Ip that Transmission gives, isnt always on the correct range.

Im happy to post a tutorial on using & setting up Transmission if its ok with Admin. Obviously, ill be using the likes of say.. Ubuntu as my demo ;) All ill need is to know where the tut plugin section is on the forum .

Yes if your willing to create a Transmission tutorial please do, I did intend to do one my self but never got the time to do it.

All tutorials should go into the Tutorials section here.

And if you give permission I could also upload it to www.openvix.co.uk too.

Here is the latest version of transmission. I have NOT tested it so it will need to be verified b4 going into the feeds.

Hi,
Try the following.
Telnet to the box

cd /tmp
opkg download enigma2-plugin-extensions-transmission
opkg install *.ipk --force-depends

Perhaps the name to download is a bit different you can find out with opkg list | grep transmission.

ciao

Although this method still reported an error and informed me that Transmission could not be installed, I was pleasantly surprised on returning to my receiver to find the opposite was in fact the case and that Transmission was now installed but sadly still not working.

Still not working how? What's the problem with it?

Connection is refused when trying to add a torrent or trying to access the web page on port 9091.
If I start the daemon, it reports that it has been started but when I tried a restart it reported that there was nothing running to kill.

I tried a reinstallation via the addons but was told it could not be installed because two lib files were either not present or not at the required version levels:

libgnutls26 >= 2.4.2
libgcrypt11 >= 1.4.4

Still not working how? What's the problem with it?

If feedback is all good, then maybe the powers that be could add it to the feeds :)

Hi all, I installed via plug in get the following message

The installation is successful.
Then, when I select the option "start transmission-daemon" I get this message:

Transmission Started!
Open your browser at http://192.168.7.2:9091
Execution terminated!

If I go with the browser of my PC to the indicated page does not open anything.
What do you think went wrong?

Software
System OE: OE-Alliance 3.2
Distro: openvix
Firmware version: 3.2.021
Driver date: 20130524
Kernel version: 3.8.7
Gui version: 2015-11-03

Thanks

Hi,
try to start via telnet and post ouput here. Perhaps only a configuration file is missing.

Transmittion is known to give out the incorrect IP on that screen. Just goto whatever your Webif ip is and add :9091
EG> My webif address is http://192.168.0.13, so to get to transmission it would be http://192.168.0.13:9091
Try the address http://192.168.0.2:9091 ;)

Hi,
I think "Execution terminated!" points to a different problem.

Transmission started to give me this Error:Unable to save resume file: No space left on device.

I know the default location has lots of space. Is this something to do with root permissions to the resume location? If so I do not know how to change these.

Any help much appreciated:confused:
