Recording Warning

Not sure if it's me missing something but when i record there is nothing to tell me it's recording, using the atv image it flashes "rec" on the info bar & on the old vti there was a tell tale on the box, checked all the settings but cant find anything to change.
It does record ok off both tuners

any ideas

Their is a setting you can change to display a message when a recording starts and then when u change channel the red dot with the letters rec will bee shown top left of display

Other than that the solo2 if u look at the display should show a small "R" when recording .
