What film plugins are you using?
A restart with a software error usually means an E2 crash, if that is the case, a log will have been created in /home/root/logs/ by default.
Upload one here or it's just guess work.

ITV player within Ondemand doesn't crash when using another proxy like smart dns proxy. However the BBC-player does still crash. You need a crashlog of that or are you already burried in crashlogs of that?
