When i play 1080P MKV's from my internal harddrive the resolution is 1920x816 or 1920x800, people in the movies are very very thin

And are there something like PS3 Media Streamer so i can stream from my PC to the VU+ DUO. In my PS3 it shows direct but in the VU+ DUO i cant get anything to work, i have tried whith TVerity but nothing shows.

I have Windows 7 and can only se the computer but not any folders

I have been reading diffrent forums for two weeks now but no luck so far.

I hope there's someone out there who could help me.

Just make sure on the AV settings on the Duo are correct. Make sure the 16:9 aspect ratio is correct, can't remenber the exact options as i'm not at home. It sounds as if the box is stretching the screen to get rid of the letterbox on the films which stretches the picture to fill the screen very weird looking!

You shall set 16/9 to Letterbox in A/V settings, then MKV will be ok.

I turned on Pan & Scan and that worked, but Letterbox haven't i tried, maybe thats better.

It was Letterbox that i tried but for the hell of it i changed to Pan&Scan.
Now it's wrong again, i cant have the black borders. With Letterbox the picture is the same as Pan&Scan aka zoomed in!
I did a reset of the box but nothing is changed.

Slightly off topic, the VU+ Duo box is not capable of 1080p output, is it?

No 1080i is maximum however 1080i offers 540 lines resolution at one time, where as 720p offers 720 lines. this is because interlaced is split into 2 fields, 1 line with the resolution and 1 line that is blank, these 2 fields interchange at a rate faster than the human eye can see - so that you see 1 frame. progressive will give the full frame, you may see a difference on the ball in a fast game of football where 720 would actually be better than 1080i

I never had much luck playing MKV on my DM800, out of the 5 files I tried I only got one to work and it crashed after trying to fast forward. How stable is MKV on VU+?

I've got a little Acer Revo machine attached to my main tv so usually just watch my HD files from that rather than go to the effort of converting files etc.

Yes it is ,you need to have auto resolution on though and select it to output 1080p and not default or it will just output whatever you have in the av settings, its the same for any file.

I'm testing on a tv which is not full HD at the minute (720p LCD). I can't see any options for 1080p or Autoresolution in the VIX A/V Settings menu, is this normal?

You need to download auto resolution in the plugins menu, there is nothing in the av setting its in the auto resolution setup.

It's working now, but i dont know what i did. Flashed the box with VTI and tried and tried but it was the same as the VIX image, but all of a sudden it worked.
It seems that it's just a little hit and miss for it to work.
I can confirm the 1080P output, i'ts working like a charm on my Sony VPL HW10 projector.
I miss the VIX image but i dont dare to change anything now.

Ok got the autoresolution in now, not exactly sure what it does with normal 720p sources yet and I haven't got any 1080p sources or indeed a 1080p television but I will do when I bring the box home to Belfast next week.

To my complete surprise all my divx and .MKVs on my NAT hard drive actually play through the media player (only mounted it tonight) whereas I couldn't get them to work at all on my DM800 clone.

Sorry Albert for hijacking your thread :)

You can view 1080p via the mytube player , plenty of hd content on you tube these days.
