View Full Version : 'SNR-signal', unstable.
I've tried many images on my 'VU+ Duo', but the problem remains: 'SNR-signal' is unstable, no services found. When the 'SNR-signal seemed to be stable, I've pressed the 'OK' on the remote, and the 'SNR-signal' became unstable again! Is there something wrong with the hardware of the receiver?

What is your setup, what satellite is the dish pointing at, have you tried both tuners independently, what bouquets have you transferred to the box.
There's 'a struggle' on the 'AGC-signal' between 76% and 99%. When 'AGC-signal' drops to 76%, the 'SNR-signal' gets to 99%.
I've tried everything. My Humax-receiver is working fine on the same terms.
The Vu+ Duo after many efforts did receive the services, but then lost them again.
It's on HotBird, Simple, Single.
please answer the rest of the questions, in particular the bouquets. I know its frustrating for you but we cant help you properly if you only provide vague bits of information.
I do not understand why the receiver always jumps back to the standard:
Frequency: 11836
Symbol Rate: 27500
FEC: Auto
Only free scan: no
My choice was:
Frequency: 10723
Symbol Rate: 29900
FEC: 3/4
Only free scan: yes
I've manually given the details.
I've no bouquets. Just HotBird, Simple, Single, Freq., S.R., FEC, etc.
Ok Forget scanning now, you need to send it a Bouquet,
I have made you one just for Hotbird, download the attached file unzip the folder inside and use Dreambox Edit to send the files to your box.
See here for how to do it. http://www.vuplus-support.co.uk/showthread.php?623-How-to-send-save-Enigma-Settings-to-the-VUDuo-using-DBEdit
Setup tuner A like this
Configuration Mode:Simple
Mode:Single
Satellite:Hotbird 6/8/9(13.0)
Send Disecq: no
Tuner B - not connected
Many thanks, for your file. I've tried to upload it to the receiver, but failed. Please, see 'FTP Log': http://www.youtube.com/user/maanvol
Is the IP-address of the gateway, the 'nameserver'?
The receiver today took the decision to function again. I noticed that this time 'the lock' was checked! How is this done, and what's its function?
I've tried for the 'nameserver', both the client, and gateway/DNS ip's got message:'unconfirmed'.
DHCP, didn't work either.
Download the latest version of dreamboxedit from here and install it if you havent got it already. http://www.vuplus-support.co.uk/showthread.php?3392-DreamBoxEdit-IHAD-Edition-4.0.1.0
It failed because it looks like you have selected Satellite receiver in the FTP part of dreambox edit, select Enigma2 and try again and it should be ok, you have successfully logged into your box so the IP address is fine, the lock just means that the receiver has achieved a lock on the satellite signal.
One other thing are you absolutely sure you have no issues with your dish alignment
Where in 'DreamBoxEdit' is 'Enigma2' to be selected? "dreamBoxEdit Options'?, which tab?
'SNR-signal':99%
'AGC-signal':80%
Its in the Options profiles tab
I'm not able to get in 'Enigma2 settings'. I click on it, but there's no reaction!

It has changed the file paths to the correct ones for the bouquets, you should now be able to load and send the hotbird file to your box
Still not able to connect...

'DreamBoxEdit' 'claims' ip-address:192.168.1.5 not found, but receiver is set for 'DHCP'.
If 'DreamBoxEdit' is not able to detect active 'DHCP' on the receiver, I'll have to turn off 'DHCP' on the receiver, and fill the details on the receiver.
What image are you using, does it have a network wizard, if so run it and get your actual IP address then enter it into Dreambox edit, dont worry about nameserver.
You must have changed something in your network settings as DBedit was connecting in that ftp log you showed me before.
Transfer without 'DHCP', was successful! Thank you, kindly, for your help.
Now I do understand the problem! The receiver just arrives with an unstable image. I've tried many images -- if not all -- and came to the conclusion that the best image in town is 'BlackHole_VUDUO_136D_USB'. On this image the scanning process works just fine.
