Hi

I have a 64g usb 3.0 stick. I've got a couple of files bigger than 4 gig so i have formatted it to exfat to allow for this. There must be someway i can use my usb on my vu solo 2 but when i plug it in, it doesnt let me mount it. Is there anyway to get my vu solo2 to play files from my usb which is formatted to exfat?

thanks

Please reboot the box after installing the driver.

Just tried it Rob, does not mount directly after installation.

Rebooted. Did not mount automtically. Tried to mount again. Mount also failed.

Even tried manually setting up mounts. Still failed. Logs attached

@Joysleep1,
If you are not hot swapping it into other devices, you can initialse (format) it into linux file system ext3/4. Unmount it first.

Menu > Setup > System > Storage Devices > Initialisation > Select device > Red button to initialise > Yes to warning about losing recordings.
Wait for completed prompt to come up.

it doesnt give me the option to initialse because it cannot find the USB. So just to confirm, there is now way USB keys that are formatted to exfat would work on vu solo 2?

Do you have to be on the latest vix image for the drivers to work?

I am on build 808, latest official one. Exfat driver did not work. Hopefully @Andyblac will add this into his to do list.

I tried the ntfs driver, that works if any good to you.

Is this issue now fixed?

I want to copy a few files that are bigger than 4gig from my receiver to my micro usb which is formatted to exfat. Would my xtrend 10000 be able to pick this up without any issues?

I've used it ok, but you'll need to download the exFAT driver.

I've used it ok, but you'll need to download the exFAT driver.

Ok will try that when i get home.
So i download the driver before i insert my USB stick right?
Do i have to restart the receiver aswell??

I would install (download) the driver, shut down, insert the usb stick, and reboot.

Easy if you're not stuck on 4.2.026 :)
