Streaming to VU+

Is it possible to steam from PC to VU+Duo box like I do on the play station with play station media server.

should be. Install and activate DLNA-/uPnP-Client. Mounting PC drive and accessing it directly is often the better solution.

Any one know how to stream from vlc on a mac(10.8.2) to vu+ solo2(vix 802 build).
the only guides i can find are for pc and the preferences panel on vlc on the mac is totally different than on pc

You don't need VLC. Just mount the storage device of the Mac.
