Hi Guys, I tried to search with no success.

I can rewind forward normal recorded or live programs on my vu solo2.

But when I try same with HD movie files copied to box HDD from PC, rewind does not work and forward is just 2x.

Installed VIX.

In info section on box its shows build version 808.

I installed: openvix-3.0.808-vusolo2_usb.zip

No issues here, it will be down to how the movies are encoded.

What format are the films in?

Have you tried the number buttons? they are quite handy :)

As has been explained over and over again: no satellite receiver is (comparable with) a multi media player.
FF/FR recordings works fine on all boxes; all other files have limitations in that area. Using the 'jump'-buttons wokrs fine on most and is a good and fast way to navigate.

Your best bet for good file-handling is to encode them with the H264 codec.

As in title, files are in avi, mp4 format.

Watching them is flawless, it’s just rewind and fwd issue. Also I find it quite handy, download movies on PC and then just FTP to box and watch at you convenience...

Is a VLC media player plugin available? Will that help??

AVI is just a container. It's the codec used for the file that is important.

And for video-playback there is no plugin needed nor is it available: it is always done in hardware.

Ok thanks.

How do I, " encode them with the H264 codec" please. I did try to google this bit....

Look for a program called "handbrake"
