Radio and TV signals are distributed over fiber. It is a modulated light (laser) signal. In the early days this was done with electrical signal over coax.
In the aPop the light signal is first boosted with the amplifier and distributed to the homes, using passive optical splitters (a lot of very minuscule prisms?)
So this way each house get his own radio and TV signal over 1 fiber.
In house there is a optical to electrical converter (fiber to coax).

This is the rack where each house has it's 2 fibers mounted (1 RTV and 1 internet)
