Hi folks upgraded my image last night from 707 to 808 (fresh flash job) have renintalled mgcam 1.35a but everytime i try and start form the panel it wont become active. Ive dsiabled loggind and the time out check and latered my mg_cfg accordingly with no joy at all. Starnge thing is one install there are no files in the usr/keys (i aasume you may get the default stuff not a blank dir) only thing i can think of doing is a fresh install tonight...

You will need to put summut in usr/keys. It is blank to start with ;)

If You have the required files in usr/keys and its not starting have you set the attributes for the binary is usr/softcams to 755?

or make sure that your mgcam.cfg is as below and not set for auto-detect

# box type
# 00 autodetect, change only if you think wrong type detected.
# 01 dbox2
# 02 dreambox
# 03 triple-dragon
# 04 relook
# 05 openbox
# 06 dreambox/mips
# 08 stapi/kathrein
# 09 stapi/ipbox
# 11 stapi/openbox
B: { 06 }

Hi tom thanks for the reply, I double checked htis, my box type is the same as yours set to 02 (its a VU solo) The attribs for my softcams in /usr/softcams I set to 755 for each one this morning before posting and just been to double check this and yes they are 755. Still confused as to why it wont become activated or start...arrrgg

Mines not set for 02 its 06

all the lines with # are ignored by the receiver they are just info for which boxtype settings are required for different boxes, your solo takes the dreambox/mips setting

B: { 06 }

yes sorry for the confusion; I meant its set to be a dreambox even though its vu using B: { 06 }, and im aware the # are just for commenting...

Dunno what else there is to go over then, seems you have all that is required to work.

Is it the same binary as you had working previously?

Here is the one I use, taken directly from my box. Its not an ipk so you need to unzip it and FTP it into usr/softcams then set 755
