Usingsettings back up on other boxes

I have a Solo2 and a Duo and I know that the images are different, however

can I using the settings/plugin backup and put on different box

The reason for asking is that a solo purchase is taking place and was wondering as it would save time downloading all the plugins and all the menu alterations i have done from standard

if i were doing it i would do a fresh new install on each box and not pass problems from box to box.

no you cant use a settings backup from one model to another, from a Duo to a Duo is fine but not to a different model.

Well, I do that all the time and it always worked out just fine. Only plugin restore is better not done from another type of box.

Cheers guys ive done model to model loads of times... Cloned image etc...
Thought it may have been issue going from twin tuner to single tuner....
Will give it a whirl when box arrives

If the tuner config is different, you may end up with a non booting box (this also happens when changing physical tuners in a box). This can easily be overcome by manually editing the settings file.
