Swap USB here.
I've got a SanDisk Cruzer Blade for my swapfile and picons. The great thing I found about the Cruzer Blade it that it WONT get detected if trying to flash a USB image, so its great for leaving plugged in the rear of a Duo, it never interfiers with flashing.

When your swap file is on the HDD, then the HDD never spins down as its continually being used. Putting the swap file on the USB allows you HDD to spin down when not in use.
USB have quicker access times

Why not have a swap on a cheap USB stick which can also be used for picons. I always used a SD card on my old Technomate 9101 so maybe it's a habit.

Of course, about 10 minutes after I wrote this, the cheap piece of shit USB gave up the ghost!!
Thanks to Sicilian's tip, I picked up an 8GB Sandisk Cruzer Blade on fleabay from an Irish supplier for about €14 including postage.
