I'm looking for a program that can change the type of audio stream on a blu ray without degrading the quality of the video. I've tried format factory, bigasoft total video and handbrake so far, but they all seem to turn a 24gb 3d blu ray into an one about 8gb in size and although its still good quality its nothing compared to the original file.

Any help is greatly appreciated

EAC3TO or MAKEMKV is what you need mate

i use it all the time to turn a 50GB bluray into an MKV with untouched VIDEO and AUDIO.

basically you will remux the video and audio into a new file.

for DTS-HD you can just mux the DTS core track.
for Tru-HD you can just mux the AC3 core track.

I was looking at makemkv but when I tried to open it I got a message saying I needed to install libiconv.dll and the only place I could find it was a Korean or Japanese site so I wrote it off.

I'll give EAC3TO a go, thanks

I'm reading through the eac3to wiki atm, its complicated but looks to be the best option.

It wasn't makemkv that needed the .dll (my bad) it was mergemkv.

ahh
makemkv is a hell of alot simpler than eac3to and leads to the same results.

eac3to used to be the norm for blurays but since makemkv came out, makes it a whole lot easier.

if you need a hand with eac3to, lemme know

Hi,
afaik makemkv does not allow th change the sound track it is always 1:1. You can only select a track but not change it.

it doesnt matter as the track will still be played with the core track.
