Mounting remote share (of any flavour) is not really the same (at all in fact) as uPnp that utilizes bandwidth to best use

Most likely there is no upnp client available for Vix image (I asked same question few threads below!)

Hi,
djmount is a client and it is on the feed. I never tried it though.

I am not the opinion that uPnP makes best of the bandwidth. Try browsing a large collection it is rather slow compared to a direct nfs mount.

And how many people would know how to setup NFS on their end device? While uPnp is most likely some sort of checkbox only.
So mostly one would be limited to CIFS share, which not always gives you enough bandwidth to play full HD files, as opposed to uPnp from exactly same location.

All I read about djmount was pointing to its bugs and limits. And it seems as the only option available

Tested DLNA/uPnp Browser plugin.

While H.264 avi plays fine , sadly any .mkv is displayed as .mkv.m3u & ofcourse does NOT play

It is not the way the server (Wild Media Server) serves them, it is a known bug in djmount:

Not an issue if it does not work (the unit is for satellite TV after all). Dedicated media center in for of Raspberry Pi with Openelec plays any media from any location that one throws at it

djmount from this (http://openpli.org/forums/topic/25642-djmountlibupnp-support-for-2gb-files/?view=findpost&p=301814) thread also does not work, but displays .mkv as .mkv.mpg (somehow closer)

So I am sure some clever mind could make it behave correctly in the end
