As it's in a bootloop, you can still FTP in & get the crashlogs being generated, stored in /home/root/logs/ by default.
If you upload one here, someone might be able to tell you why it's happening.

Also, please read this thread (http://www.world-of-satellite.com/showthread.php?33155-ALL-MEMBERS-PLEASE-READ!-New-method-of-posting-in-ViX-Support-Section-coming-soon!&p=250330&viewfull=1#post250330).

By reflashing it !, the process of flashing the receiver will erase the old image then write a new one onto it, bus as said by judge you can also still FTP into the receiver even though it is in a bootloop to retrieve some of the crash logs from /home/root/

All a factory reset does is erase the user area and return the image you have on there back to a just installed state.

you will need to use a USB stick to reflash the image if it's in a bootloop.

every thing you need to know is in this tutorial http://openvix.co.uk/index.php?dir=Guides%20and%20Tutorials/&file=How%20to%20flash%20a%20Vu%2B%20Ultimo.pdf

But i would not recommend using a USB HDD because if it disconnects during the flashing process it could kill the receiver, you really need a USB flash drive ( USB stick ).

iv updated on the box and completed the upgrade with usb hdd

ok so time to setup again, your original issue with the OSD was something called overscan, ideally you want to turn this off from the TV's side because with it turned on your loosing a good portion of the viewable area of your TV, if thats not a option you can adjust the OSD's position as part of the first install wizard after flashing the receiver.

Can you please try to update in readable English. If you can't, maybe one of the other language forums might suit you better?

If you are trying to reflash the receiver while in a bootloop you MUST use a USB stick / Flash drive to reflash it you can NOT use the image manager to reflash it as you cant access the menus needed to initiate the flashing process.

Follow the Tutorial i linked to above, it gives very clear and easy to follow instructions on how to reflash a receiver using a USB stick or Flash drive.

No the link i posted in post 13 of this thread does not mention flashing without a USB stick, that method only works if you can access the internal menu structure of the image but as your receiver is in a bootloop you cant do that. as for using a USB hard drive yes it's possible but not recommended incase the drive disconnects during the flashing process as this could kill the receiver, plus you would need to format the drive first loosing every thing you may have on it.

Every thing you need to know about flashing the receiver by USB stick is in the tutorial i linked to in post 13.

iv tryed the 2nd method its not doing anything

Larry-G

you can not use the image manager to reflash a receiver that is locked in a bootloop it has to be done with a USB stick, if you dont have a USB stick you need to get one.

if i get one please could you write me a easy step by step guide

like
1 get a usb stick
2 etc..
3etc..

that would help me alot as tht tutioral not help as it say quote

Download the image of your choice ( i'm using Black Hole 2.0.3 )
-Extract the image to your desktop.
-FTP the entire archive to your backup folder as follows /media/hdd/imagebackups/ ( you can
use /media/usb/image backups ) if you prefer to use a mounted USB stick, change the location as
needed in the image manager

your using the wrong tutorial, the one i linked to in post 13 titled How to flash a Vu+ Ultimo is the one you need and it's written so that any one can follow it, just substitute the ViX image for the one you want to flash.

Download the image of your choice ( i'm using Black Hole 2.0.3 )

Why are you using an old BH image? why not use an up-to date image, BH 2.0.8.x (I think) or current ViX (3.0.808) image?

Sorry but i am finding it hard to understand your replies ( not your fault ), so have you managed to reflash the receiver or not ?.

If you have then upon rebooting the receiver for the first time you should be presented with the FIW ( first instal wizard ), this is where you setup the basics such as your tuner card and network.

If you are not being asked to press the - button the receiver is not detecting the HDD or the image files on it, try a real USB stick.

Sorry to ask this, but you seem to be perfectly capable of reading English replies fine, is it a language barrier that makes your support requests un-readable?
