VU+solo 2 External HD Help Please

Hi all,
could anyone tell me if its possible to set up an external HD on my solo2?
if so what kind of HD would i need to purchase?
ive been going through the threads but cant seem to fin any info.

Im a newby at all of this so thanks in advance.

Yes you can do it via usb or as a networked drive. I currently have a Samsung 1TB connected via USB which works fine with no issues and I have a 500gb hard drive networked through my router

how would i set this up? once i plug it in is there a process to connect it to my box or does it do this automatic? I'm going to use HD to record my programs with time shift.

is there a way i could connect my box to my Xbox 360 ?

The easy way is just to plug in your drive while your system is powered down Then start machine, go in to MENU>Setup>System>storage device and initialise . Its pretty idiot prove. Are you also aware that your solo 2 will take an internal hard drive too ..!
