Hi i have recently tried transcoding to my HTC One 4g from my Vu Solo 2, finally got it working with the following setting on dreamdroid -

dreamdroid settings
connection
*******.dyndns-ip.com - port 8099
stream
*******.dyndns-ip.com - live port 8001

solo2 settings
openwebif - http port 8099
transcoding - port 8002, bitrate 400kbitts, framerate 50fps

forwarded ports - 8099, 8001, 8002 on router.

download speed 12mb upload speed 1mb

with these setting i have been able to get transcoding to work to my phone using VLC player but the quality is very poor, the picture is ok but the stream quality is unwatchable due to lagging.

question is is there anything i can change in my setting to improve the stream quality or is the 1mb upload speed just not enough to use transcoding?

Mobile is on 4g so that shouldnt be a problem should it?

all help much appreciated!

The poor quality is down to a driver-issue.
That has been reported to VU+, but we have no idea if they're actually working on it.

You are not using transcoding going by what you have stated above. In dreamdroid setting for streaming you need to enter 8002 not 8001 as this is the port for standard non-transcoded streams hence the lagging you are getting due to bandwidth/stream settings

On 1mb upload same as me btw set to 600kbs and frames to 30fps you will get a watchable stream with no buffer

are you talking about streaming (port 8001) or transcoding (port 8002)?

if streaming - then how you changing the bitrate? I thought that you could only do that with transcoding?

Transcoding will create the stream... 8001 gives the standard stream. 8002 will give the transcoded stream...

just curious to know how to get transcoding working because isn't there a problem with it at the moment?

I don't have a transcoding capable box, so I can't help out at the minute I'm afraid...
