Setup growing weary..

Hi, learnt a lot from here and purchased a a tm 2t from the sponsors, 1st class to deal with.

I have a a fixed dish at 28.2E and also a motorised tm 2300 (USALS) both connected and have had 9 months excellent viewing, with TV, webIF, iPAD and android.I have a WD USB HD connected and all fine with recordings, timeshift, etc. Great box and very happy with it.

Recently gone a bit wonky.

Im on build VIX 805.

DBE will not transfer FTP bouquets properly and crashes (WIN 8), USALS has decided not to work and so i have locked it to 13.0E by manual movement.

Mostly bothered about motorised not working,

Think setup might just need a little TLC. If i throw it round to 0.00 and do a full factory is that my best option?

I've just posted about DBE not transferring bouquets properly on my TM-2T. I'm also running Windows 8. Coincidence perhaps?

There is no XP Mode but there are a couple of (even better) alternatives available that work in Windows 8.

There is no MS Virtual PC pre-installed with Windows 8. There is MS HYPER-V (more designed for business use) but you'll have to enable it, is more advanced, requires a newer CPU but you will have to install XP yourself.

There is always VirtualBox (https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Downloads) and VMware Player (https://my.vmware.com/web/vmware/evalcenter?p=player) which are free and where you could make your own so called XP Mode.
You can install a lot of operating systems including Win XP or you can even import XP Mode image from Win7.

For DOS programs there is also the Built-in DOS support (see Control Panel to enable) in Windows 8 32bit and/or you can also use DosBox (for DOS support in Windows 8 64bit) (DOSBox, an x86 emulator with DOS).
