Transcoding server

Heys guys

I was wondering is it possible to get an unattended standalone video transcoding server that would sit behind the tv unit?

Its purpose is so that I can watch my sky chs outside home network.

I noticed something like upnp media server but not sure if this is the correct hardware I need...if it is then my router has it built in.
