why is my sony remote contrrolling the quad?

Hi all, quick simple question

My sony remote seems to be controlling my quad box, I presume it's some sort of hdmi thing?

Havent yet fouond out what it ism can some kind person point me in the right direction please?

Menu -> Setup -> System -> HDMI CEC

Hmm, it's set to off, (was already off)

Weird, not a big problem, just my TV is set to auto turn off after a couple of hours and I'm used to grabbing remote and pressing any button to stop it (it displays a message giving me about 30 secs), now half the buttons operate the quad lol

I'm sure once I've had it for a few days and played around I'll suss it out

Yep that fixed it, however :)

Now I cant control my PS3 using my Sony remote (no pleasing some people)

If you turn it back on the TV & enable it on the box, using the options in Menu -> Setup -> System -> HDMI CEC (when enabled) you might be able to get it working the way you want.

We must have the same setup, Sony TV, GB quad and ps3. I switched my HDMI cec off because I didn't have the time to set it up correctly but I've a few days off next week so maybe I'll get it setup the way I want it, I'll update the thread if I manage to get it all working.
