Don't quite follow?
Anyway; the easy way:
download the image of your choice from http://download.for-better.biz/bbs/list.php?board=tm800hd,
copy it to the root of the USB stick and then rename it TM800_update.bin,
Power-off TM800 at the back,
Power-on and
start pressing the "Standby" on the front panel quickly, until
"Miniroot" appears
Plug the USB stick into the TM800's front USB
wait a minute...
Press "Menu"
image flash should start and display progress in the panel display

First you plug the USB stick in,
THEN you wait a minute for the box to recognise the device and read the file structure,
THEN you press the "menu"...

I don't know what you did, but that's certainly not what you wrote.

Anyway, if that doesn't work, the other option is to connect the to box using the browser from your PC when the box displays the "miniroot" in the display.
Then you can download and flash the image using the "miniweb" interface, all from the PC

Try another USB stick, but format it FAT32 first. Had a similar issue myself.

Other option is use the webif to flash the new image.

Thanks Boss,
I got it working through the miniroot.
still cant figure out why it wouldnt work through usb.
I'm bit dissapointed in quaility of picture, Spiderbox 9000Hd is much better.
Build quaility is bit cheap.
I was supposed to be upgrading my second box, but prefer Spiderbox.
Thanks again guys for your help

Try a different USB stick, I had the same issue too once. I personally think the build quality is very good.

Ok, I think when you start you must put your USB stick in the back (front port is NOT reconised on my TM for Image usb boot).
Make sure your file is named TM800_update.bin (and not in a directory, just put file on stick no folders).
Then start your STB from back and keep pressing standby slowly 1 press per 500ms then when the VFD says MINIROOT wait till the desplay say`s 192.168.*.* then press MENU and bingo the file will load.
Hope this helps.

Sorry Red, but that about rear vs. front USB is not true. It mounts and works perfectly from the front, for me and everybody else that I know.
What you should do to ensure that USB is recognised is to only plug it in once you have displayed the Miniroot, and give TM a minute to scan the device and folders. That' all. Never failed.

Thanks reddishd and fdlsys.
I got it working through miniroot and flashfxp.
Reddishd i take on board what u said about no making a folder. I think that is where i went wrong.
it was the file that i should have renamed not the folder.
Thanks
