I currently use Roomie to control some of my home A/V kit via their Ethernet connections, others are also controlled by Roomie too but using an iTach IP2IR box (which sends IR commands via IR wands stuck to the front of those units).

I'd like to know whether there's any way to control a Vu+ Duo2 via IP (i.e. mimic the individual IR remote control commands). If possible I'd rather do it this way since the IR wand option can be unreliable at times.

You could use WebIF, http://IPOFBOX
Or an app on a smart phone.

Hi,
no problem to simulate a RC over IP. Take a look at this: http://dream.reichholf.net/wiki/Enigma2:WebInterface#RemoteControl
