how do i load a backup ?

ive just flashed the latest vix image build on to my duo and I have saved a backup onto a usb - on the usb it shows as a folder saying backup then when I click on the backup folder it shows a WinRAR file that ends in .tar how do I load this backup onto another receiver as ive never done this before ?


will it read automatically like a full flash or do I need to covert it or something ?

either during the FIW ( first install wizard ) or directly through the backup manager it self.

sorry mate what i mean to say is . i have saved my backup onto a usb - can i plug the usb into another reciver and load my setting s saved on the usb onto another duo ?

create a folder on the USB stick named backup and place the backup into that, then insert it into the receiver and go to the backup manager, you should be able to see it there and use the restore option.
