View Full Version : No sound on VU+ Solo2. HHHEEEEELLLLLPPPPP!! lol

Hi peeps,

Encounted a major problem totay, updated my mates solo2 box today as he was on build 753, so did a fresh intall to latest build 766. All was good, then all of a sudden lost the sound. Still have a piture but no sound. I have reflashed without restoring any backup, still no sound. Swapped HDMI cables, still no sound. Tried scart lead, still no sound. I've brought the box home with me, no sound. Turn my Duo2 on using the same HDMI cable sound works. plug HDMI into my mates Solo2 box, no sound!!! I'm at a lost with this. Has the sound chip on the board gone do you think? It is still under warranty, bought from WoS. I've reflashed back to build 753, no sound. Dunno what else to do. HHHHEEELLLLPPPPP!!! lol

I've just installed the original vu plus software onto the solo2, still the same, no sound!! Any ideas peeps before I contact Stef at WoS?

Have you checked all the obvious.?in the A/V settings on box is the output set to the one you have.?HDMI for HDMI etc.?After i clean installed it was set to scart ypr.
SET up/settings/a/v

check you have the volume turned up or on also..you never know.

Thanks for your replies. A/V settings is setup how it should be, HDMI etc. Digital downmix was on yes, changed to no n still the same. Its got to be the sound chip on the m/board. I've done loads of these boxes without any issues. Just seems strange.

I know it is obvious, but have you tried the sound button on the remote control? My sound goes off from time to time, but returns when I choose an alternative option for the sound.

yeah volume on remote is on max. I've muted, unmuted, restarted box, but still no joy. Bloody queer I tell ya. lol

Try anything that will give you audio output like a radio channel or a recording that's still on drive
In av set downmix to yes and save.In auto language selection select AC3 preferred YES use provided by service NO and save.

A re-flash was tried but in your mates house? Using your mates USB stick? You've not re-flashed with your own stuff? If it works with your equipment then mirror on his?

On any computer on the same network, just use http://IP_ADDRESS_OF_BOX or name of box.

no I've reflashed with my usb at my house. ViX image has gone on ok, but no sound, picture is fine. Even when doing CrossEPG downloader, the porn music in the background doesn't run. lol.
Judge, onDemand sound doesn't work either. I've flashed the original vu plus image, everything goes on ok, but no sound. I've installed BH image, goes on ok, but no sound. Got to be the board.

Im not convinced its the box.What output do you have to TV.?I still think its to do with the settings.
Try to flash a earlier image one from last month say and see what happens.

i get no sound on my solo2 drives me mad,either reboot enigma or enter via audio button and select nar that brings sound and then back to eng and exit:D

Have you tried different hdmi cable? Or different hdmi port on tv just to check cable or hdmi port on tv ain't to blame? This might be daft question but does the tv produce sound from other devices still?

hi all.

yeah tried different HDMI leads and different tv ports but still no sound. I did everything WoS asked me to do and it is now with them being tested. Its still under warranty so will see what the report is from Stef.

personally and i'm aware that this does not help, but i have no such issues with my solo2 which is used as my primary testing / personal use receiver.
