Hi.
Can some one please check the Gigablue Quad system info?
I'm using the factory default OpenMIPS Image and it does not have hardware info; can not check the unit specs.
I use 2 different sources/plugin: plugin-extensions-trrplugin/enigmaplugin-extensions-newmenu, and it tells me that the processor model is Bcrm4380 V1.1 FPU V0.1
BogoMIPS0: 869.37
BogoMIPS1: 651.26
Total amount of Physical RAM: 557MB
rather than the stated in the product description of Broadcom BCM7356 or BCM7346.
The Tuners seem to be BCM7356 and the processor should be BCM7346, but I'm
getting, system type: BCM7346 and Processor model: Brcm4380.
The Units motherboard is dated 2012.07.02 V0.6

I can't use HD skins like the default OM-Black, because it has PIG overlay issues- the info bar image breaks up. Check the pics.

I just purchased the unit, what should I do?2979129792
Thanks for any input to the query.

Thanks for your input.
yes I tried various images- same result.
My problem is the box hardware info does not seem correct.

Thanks.

Thanks for the information all.
I do get the same results on OpenATV, but if I use the info panel and select system info, I get the previous results.
I'm also having PIG overlay issues with om-black, Army_Mood_blue and other HD skins.

The main info bar breaks up. Can someone please use the TRRPlugin Universe IR V2.0 R064 and hit the red button for system info to see if the Bogomips and CPU model is Brcm4380?

I appreciate all your support. I believe that my CPU is not compatable with the latest Kernels- 3.3.8...

Thanks again for you input.

Sorry, can you guys please use another method other than the main information UI, and re-check your system info? Don't use the information panel on the main menu screen.

Thank you.

Okay, thanks.
I have the same info using the same plugin, but the description for this model "Gigablue Quad is BCM7356 with BroadcomMIPS CPU Model: 7346.
I just bought 2 units for myself and they both have the same CPU Model 4380 although the advertised is: The GiGaBlue HD 800 Quad has a extremely powerful BCM7356/1300Mhz Broadcom MIPS CPU processor & Linux operating system, plus a huge 1024MB of DDR3 SDRAM and 512MB of NAND flash.

I think I have older pre-release versions.

Anyways, thanks for all your inputs. I think I'll return them under Item not as described.

Cheers.

Interesting...Could it be that the trr plugin is giving the wrong info, as under the vix image info it does say that the chipset is 7356..What would be the difference between them?

So how do you know this plugin is actually giving you the correct information and that its not the thing thats at fault ?.

I would say that this is exactly what is going on here.

yeah, your right, but I get the same Brcm4380 on various images. For example, under openATV- the best HD Quad image, if I use the main menu I get the BCM7346 CPU, but if I goto info panel I get the same Brcm4380 and BogoMIPS instead of MIPSEL.

The factory default image does not even give hardware info- you have to use plugins for that.
I've used VIX and I got the same Brcm4380 when using various info plugins.

I'm going to write to the Denmark website and see what's going on.

My main problem is the PIG issue.

Cheers.

I just tried the Army Mood Blue on mine, i didn't test it for long but i didn't seem to get any distortion on the info bar

Ah tell a lie, just put it on again and there is minor distortion sometimes around the 'time' and the picture resolution size

Yeah, but the more you use it the more you notice image break up. Try changing channels and watch the info bar- gets really bad. really nice skin though.

So, OpenATV and OpenHDF have extensive system info built-in. Check out Info panel on OpenATV or HDF toolBox and go to CPU infos. CPU model Brcm4380 and BogoMIPS instead of the MIPSEL processor type.

I think that's why the PIG overlay issues.
Anyways I'll contact Denmark and find more.

Cheers.

Hi,
I think you are confuse SOC type with CPU type and both have different versions. SOC is the complete System On Chip and includes CPU, graphics and perhaps tuner and the included CPU is 4380.

The information you see is driver depended and if a dev wants to make a joke he can put Core I7 4770K in there:-)

ciao

Thanks for your input.
Is there anything I can do to resolve the PIG problem?

Thanks again.

Yes: as that has not been covered by the title of this thread just open a thread for it.

It's never a good idea to mix up all kinds of questions in one thread; they'll get lost.

To go further, the CPU within the two SoC is a dual threaded BCRM5000 series which emulates two BCRM4380 cores.

Confused? I'm not surprised!
