Reflash box and when you switch off at the remove and reboot stage leave it off for a few seconds before switching it back on again

Disconnect the hard drive - it may be stopping the boot process

I can't disconnect anything its stuck in starting. Besides the reason i installing build 742 is due to the fact that the last build seemed to have disconned the hdd and created 1 or 2 other issues. Any other tricks i can try?

Remove any USB sticks or USB tuner if you use one - then reboot.

There is only one bootloader for the duo on the support site - duo_cfe_3_0_usb

Make sure that you have a genuine duo before going any further - recent vix images will not work on a clone

Sometimes a bug creeps into a flash. Try flash again with no additional USB stick - just the one with the flash on it.

tried that, made no diff. I think there was a bug in the last flash a few wks ago that's causing these problems. Thats why i am installing build 742.
Can't find bootlader though .

There is nothing in the image that would prevent it from booting, it's just pure coincidence that the receiver is not booting after loading the image. Bootloader's can be found via www.openvix.co.uk although if you were already using a ViX 3.0 series image it would have already had this flashed.

The best thing you can do to find out exactly whats happening is to create a serial boot log.

I threw caution to the wind and flashed with the latest build, it loaded without a hitch. My son inlaw called in, tested the internal hdd and discovered that its faulty (replace thar nxt wk). Also, another issue was the the freezing and glitching ( he discovered that is an issue with virgin broadband). Is thee a poss that build 742 has an issue?

Thanks for our support folks. :)

Hi mate

Been a vm user for few years now and never experienced a problem with vm broadband and stb... either im lucky or your problem is not related to router. sometimes depending on what plugins you have installed and what build is made up of can cause users problems loot at what happened after build 750 with picture formats some had no problems some did depending on your own setup.
As you would have read crash logs go a long way to helping others understand your stb problems and maybe resolve them too. When in doubt with a problem and no help if offered then make a backup of certain files like settings CCcam etc then reflash and build slowly adding plugins checking then adding more you may then fall onto what is causing your problem
