Playback of media files

Hello
When I playback recorded media files the fastest I can play back at is 4 x
I have an external usb connected hd 500 gigabytes gb is it possible to install an internal hdd on this unit and will that make the playback of files better better

There's a search bar function - think its a long press right or left - lets you skip quickly through the playback file.

Also numbers 3, 6 and 9 skip forward and 1, 4 and 7 skip backwards - the skip duration on all these are configurable to your liking.
