External HDD via ESata

Can someone please check if they are able to get an external HDD to work via the ESATA connector at the back of the box.

For me this does not work and I can only connect via USB (is this a driver issue?)

have you tried adding esata device that is externally powered ie has its own power supply?

OK I will try and get another drive case which is externally powered.
