The BBC is launching a +1 “timeshift” channel, which will offer viewers the chance to watch programmes an hour after they are originally broadcast.

BBC Director General Tony Hall said: “It’s what audiences expect, especially younger ones, and it means people can get more of what they’ve already paid for.”

All the BBC’s commercial rivals – including ITV, Channel 4 and Channel 5 – already have +1 services for all their networks.

Erm, isn't that what iPlayer is for? I hate +1 channels! If you missed it, should have recorded it!!!

Mini rant over lol.

yes and no, legally we have no way of recording content from the iplayer via the OnDemand player in ViX ( although you can on a PC albeit it DRM protected ), This way you get another chance to set a recording or better still "timeshift" recordings in cases where it would cause a clash if using the normal channel.
