vu solo 2 keypad problem

Having a minor problem with my vu solo 2. Its running vix 3 and have 1channel plugin installed. When I try to search for tv show/movie, when I press the keypad all I get is numbers, its not alphanumerical.

Ive tried holding in the button but still just get numbers...been through all menu options but cant seem to change it...

Menu>setup>system>remote control setup>

There should be a option in there that will help but as i'm not near a receiver i'm not 100 percent sure of the name etc.

i was having this problem except i have no remote control setup>
correct path is Menu>setup>system>remote control code>text support set to yes
