No wifi dongle after a flash to latest vix 747 image

After having lip sync issues for ages ,decided to reflash to latest vix image 747.
Did a restore for my settings and system does not detect my wifi dongle (ferguson). Checked on my laptop and it is seen in windows.
So assume no hardware fault . also USB port checked ok with a memory stick.
Have ordered homeplugs but wondering why ?, is there a bug in this build of vix or am i missing something simple.

You will currently need to hardwire the box & download the required drivers for your wireless USB stick from the plugin feeds.

All Third party wifi drivers have been removed from the base image for stability reasons as they tend to interfere with each other, you can as judge says download the relevant drivers from the image feeds but you will need to be connected to the internet first via a lan cable to do that.
