Hoping for some help,

I bought a used VU Solo box of Ebay for £112 + £12 p+p, the seller seemed legit and had the Black Hole 2.0.5 running on it, i tried to update it to VIX 3.0.742 and since then the box has just died, does this mean i've been stiffed by the seller and been sold a clone or would there be some other underlying issue?

any advice or help would be much appreciated.

thanks.

Have you tried flashing with any other images ?. we can help you identify if the unit is a clone or not but we would need photos of the inside and outside to do that.

im going to try and load the vix 2.4 which i found on the forums, then go up a version until it stops working again, i'll also upload pictures of the box when i get home from work.

got home and tried to install 2.4 but nothing still. i have managed to snap some pics of the box and i noticed it has a white label on the bottom with v2.0 on it, isn't this usually on clones?

yes thats a clone sadly original boxes never come with that sticker, if you want to be 100 percent certain you can remove the lid and look for the "secret chip".

Glad to hear that you got things sorted and be very thankful that you did not kill the receiver by loading the wrong image to it.
