Hi folks.
is it possible for the media player plug-in on VIX to look at network storage rather than local usb????

Also, anyone tried the XBMC plug in, would it be possible to run navi-x on that, (plugin inside a plug-in) would it work?

You don't need any plugins to view files on your NAS.
Use the network browser fo find & mount the share.
Menu -> Setup -> System -> Network -> Mounts setup.

As for the the XBMC plug in, there is an active thread for that, better off following that or asking there.

It shouldn't crash on an mp4 playback.
A crash log will have been generated in /home/root/logs/ (by default)
Upload it here for someone to have a look at.

When you mounted the share, one of the options should have been 'use as hdd replacement' or something like that.

most AVI's and MKV's will work fine although you must remember that AVI and MKV are not formats in them selves but simply containers, the files in these containers can be encoded in dozens of different ways and the receiver is limited in what it can play by hardware based codeks.

as said above, crash logs are in /home/root/logs/ (by default)

FTP into the box & check there.

There is no relation with this topic, so we can't answer that. Pleas make a new thread for a new issue.
