On advice from a friend, I'm purchasing a Linux DVB-S (preferably dual tuner) but I'd like some advice as which way to go, my budget is £250 MAX, but I'd like to look at cheaper possibilities. I'm weighing up between the VU+ Duo2 (which my friend has recommended) and the Venton Unibox HD2. Can anyone compare these for me and advise me which way to go? I'll be looking at using it as a full PVR (also a media player if it doubles up) and also the other obvious set up (which I don't think I need to mention/can't mention).

Any advice please?

Thanks.

duo2 is a fine receiber but a little bit overpriced. VU+ Ultimo is also a good alternative.

Your not going to fine a duo2 for £250 if you let me know as well:)

At that price your best options are solo2 or gigablue quad.

My apologies -- my mistake, it's the VU+ Duo not the 2 ... I was mistaken as I've been looking at so many. So my options are the Venton or the Duo ... appears to be support for the VU+?

if you can squeeze an extra £20 get the gigablue quad.

far better than the venton and duo.
