Hi Guys,

Just updated my Vu Duo to Unstable Build 723, and now experiencing loss of sound when I change channels. Only way to get the sound back to flick through a few channels and then it comes back. Might just be a coincidence, but I had no issues before the update.

Anyone else having a similar issue with this build?

Hi Guys,

No-one else having the same issue? Have lost the sound at least 10 times today, only way to get ii back is flick up a channel and then back.

Will revert back to Build 722 to see what happens.

You really should provide some more info:

1- On all channels?
2- Always?
3- On what sound: AC3/PCM?
4- Downmix On/Off?
5- Audio connected via: HDMI/SPdif/cinch/scart?

Hi,

went back to Build 720, no further issues.

However, as requested:

1. Impossible to say, but I experienced it on several channels on 28E
2. No, intermittent
3. AC3
4. Downmix On
5. No

Thanks,
GAH

Ad 3: please try other then AC3 sound and see if that helps (if available that is)
Ad 5: No sound connected? So how do you have sound then?

Ad 3: No other options available, only AC3
Ad 5: Vu Duo connected to my tv via HDMI

I've just read other reports saying the same since the last driver update.
I reported it to VU+.

Thank you.

Will stick with Buld 720 for the time being.

Or update and insert the elder drivers manually.

How do you insert the older drivers?

I'm having the same issue on 723. Can be watching a channel for ages, then all of a sudden no sound. Have to change channel to get it back.

Drivers are the files in /lib/modules/3.1.1/extra
FTP them to as a backup a safe location (on your PC), and FTP drivers from http://archive.vuplus.com/download/drivers/ to your box.

Thank you. Do I use the bm750 ones for a Duo?

Yes; I think you would need http://archive.vuplus.com/download/drivers/vuplus-dvb-modules-bm750-3.1.1-4.4.3-20130731.tar.gz
Don't forget to unzip the files before FTPing them.

Thanks. That also fixed this: http://www.world-of-satellite.com/showthread.php?30778-Build-722-Font-Issue/page3

That should be fixed with the drivers that have been released today:
20130829(duo)
- Fix AC3 sound problem

Available via

http://archive.vuplus.com/download/drivers/vuplus-dvb-modules-bm750-3.1.1-4.4.3-20130830.tar.gz
so you can manually FTP them to your box, or await build 730 that will hold them.

Rob does it also fix the font quality issue?

Hi rob,
Just spotted this thread as having same issues, loss of sound when ever it feels like it and change channel in order to get it back.
I have done all updates to current 729 build but still happening.
Is the link you kindly provided of any use on this build i am on or shall i still test or simply await v730 build update.
Best wishes

I dont know of any audio issues with the Uno but there was attributed to the drivers dated 18.08.2013 for the Duo, this was fixed with the release of a new driver set dated 30.08.2013.

Sorry for confusion, i post other post in wrong section, i do have the loyal trusty DUO.
I will get and test the dated 30th aug drivers.
Best wishes

For the DUO the sound issues seem to be fixed with the 20130830 drivers.
Either FTP them to the box or await build 730.

Driver info is added for each build and will not change automatically if you personally use different drivers.

That is indeed completely correct.
But the question is: is the sound-issue fixed?

I am running latest build (729) and I am still experiencing sound issues on my duo.

When watching an HD channel with ac3 audio the sound occasionally drops out. Only way to get it back is by changing channels or toggling audio streams.

Thats because build 729 has the faulty drivers dated 19.08.2013 in it, you need to either manually FTP the new drivers dated 30.08.2013 which were built for this very issue or wait for build 730 which will contain these drivers.

Hi,

I still have a minor issue with the new drivers. My Vu Duo is connected to my LG tv via HDMI. If I switch my tv off, there is no picture or sound when I turn the tv back on again. Only way to get it sorted is to unplug the HDMI cable from the back of he Vu Duo and re-connect it. If I re-install the July drivers, it solves the problem.
