The black TD110 has been taken down now.
:(
SWMBO insisted.....and she's threatened D.I.V.O.R.C.E if anymore gadgets arrive.......but the Vu+ box hasn't arrived...I think I may need to cancel.....

The black TD110 is likely going to be replaced by a 85cm transparent dish

http://www.satellitesuperstore.co.uk/clearmenu.htm#clear85
mounted lower down on the pole and closer to the wall.....

and the TD110 is now For Sale

I have just put my dish up at the weekend and my 2600 motor is mounted the opposite way to twigmans. The thing is if I mount it the same way the connections would face upwards and allow rain to just run.

Are some motors designed to be mounted differentely ?

Cheers

The TM motors point down.
The Stab motors point up.
Both have F connectors on the underside.

You've done it ptoperly.
Don't worry.

I don't know what motor twiggy has, but I remember that Stab did motors that mounted that way up.
I did mean to ask what motor twiggy is using.

seems to be a few in same boat on this thread so a pertinent question arose, when dish is mounted motor connected and cable run what is next stage of alignment, flash new image or set up dish without new image and do it later, with a 1.1m dish if your out a bit on south will you still receive something? and then fine tune?

Sorry just found this info on forum

I usually rough align the dish by using a real cheapo sat meter.
If all other settings have been done when assembling the dish/motor, make sure dish is at zero position, turn complete dish/motor/mount on the pole till a signal is detected as close to south as possible.
The most important thing in a motorised set up is getting the mount totally plumb. If it's not 100% plumb, the further the dish drives from zero, the more it strays off the correct arc.

Sic,

What sat is this on in the photo. 28.2 ?

I had my dish on similar pole setup but had to go higher to clear the pitch of the garage roof.

It was 6-7 ft above gutter of 45deg roof.

Wind played havoc with it and the motor packed in. Gears sheared.

Pretty sure it was pointing to Hotbird 13deg. Clear's the roof just right lol!

Yes got to agree, wind does really catch it. Totally killed the TM2200 motor I used to have. Ended up replacing got a TM2600 all metal geared motor 2-3 weeks ago.

I replaced with the same motor. Going on the ground though.

This is my setup 1.2m dish with TM2200 Inverto Quad Black Prenium pointing at 0.8w thor, fixed 60mm dish at 28E .
2" aluminium tube T & K brackets plus additional bracket to eliminate wind movement also filled the tuble with expandable foam, self installed quite pleased with the result

My wife gave up on me after I said I was putting a shed in our small back yard and built myself a 10ft square(ish) workshop taking up the entire yard :D

So it was no surprise when she discovered a new pole sticking out of the ground with my dish on the top
