Venton HD2 setup problems

hi i have just recieved a Venton hd2 receiver, firstly it is not connectiong to the satellite. when i check in setup it says nothing connected. i went to sat finder in the setup menu but i get an error message saying i have a software problem and the receiver restarts.

the dish is pointed at Hotbaird 13o and connects fine with an old receiver i have.

Menu > Setup > Service Searching > Tuner Configuration > Set to Simple > Simple, Single, Hotbird 13deg. See screenshot.
