I have 6 kids,1 has taken my control.

I have the app on my iphone and control from my mac.

But my solo2 keeps changing ip address

How can you tell the IP address with out a control to access the menu on the solo2

Look in your router.
Or use an application like NetworkScanner

And while you're in the router: just give the box a fixed IP (or do that on the box itself)

Using the vuplus plugin on android you can use the remote to get to network settings and change to static there.

Not definite, but think you can do in web interface too.

Of course both of the above need you to know the ip address to start with!

As said above, you can usually set in router for ip reservation for vu+ so that doesn't change.
Not all routers will have this feature but most will, virgin Super hub does.

If you can get in to network settings on the box turn off dhcp. It will then keep that ip address for your solo2

Advice for this
When choosing an internal IP , try and choose a high one like 192.168.0.55, as if you choose a low one 192.168.0.6 then when you turn off the SOLO2 and a Mobile or Tablet connects it will take the next available IP which would most likely be the low one you have chosen, and then when you turn on SOLO2 you will get an IP clash.

Wise words. So turn of dhcp and pick a high ip.
